Today we visited the Etruscan Museum (Il Museo degli Etrusci). The Etruscans were the first group of people to settle in Rome. They were a very creative people, and they are known for their beautifully decorated pots, dishes, and sculptures, on which they often depicted events, people, and gods. Though their language has yet to be understood, their works of art speak volumes of their lifestyle. It is evident by looking at all the items they created that they were very advanced for their time. They even brought wine to Italy! We had a great day learning about the rich pre-roman history, and we look forward to diving even deeper into the amazing history of the Roman Empire!
